Jharkhand Assembly Elections: The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has officially declared its seat-sharing arrangement for the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly Elections. On Friday, BJP and AJSU leaders held a press conference at the state BJP headquarters in Ranchi, revealing the details of the alliance.
Under the NDA alliance in Jharkhand:
- BJP will contest 68 seats
- AJSU will contest 10 seats
- JDU will contest 2 seats
- LJP (Ram Vilas) will contest 1 seat
BJP’s election in-charge Shivraj Singh Chauhan and co-in-charge Himanta Biswa Sarma shared this information during the press briefing.
We Will Fight Together
Addressing the media, Union Minister and Jharkhand election in-charge Shivraj Singh Chauhan said, “BJP, AJSU, JDU, and LJP (Ram Vilas) will contest the elections together in the state. Our campaign will also be a united effort.” He was joined by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Jharkhand BJP President Babulal Marandi, and AJSU chief Sudesh Mahato, all reaffirming the NDA’s strong coalition in Jharkhand.
Two-Phase Election Schedule
The Jharkhand Assembly elections will be held in two phases. The first phase of voting is scheduled for November 13, with candidates allowed to file nominations until October 25. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be conducted on October 28, and the deadline for withdrawal of nominations is October 30.
The state has 81 assembly seats in total:
- 44 seats are unreserved
- 28 seats are reserved for Scheduled Tribes (ST)
- 9 seats are reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC)
The second phase notification will be issued on October 22. The last date for nominations for this phase is October 29, followed by scrutiny on October 30. Candidates can withdraw their nominations by November 1, and voting for the second phase will be held on November 20. The election results will be declared on November 23.
With a voter base of 2.6 crore, the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly Elections are set to witness a significant contest among political parties.
