It is one of the 14 assembly segments in Patna district. Barh includes the Community Development (CD) Blocks of Athmalgola, Belchi, and Barh, as well as the Gram Panchayats of Dhiwar, Parsawan, Goasa Shekhpura, and Bihari Bigha in the Pandarak CD Block. According to the 2011 census, the constituency has a population of about 413,880, with 19.07% belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) and 0.15% to Scheduled Tribes (ST).
