The Barhara Assembly constituency includes the Barhara CD Block and several Gram Panchayats: Ijri, Sundarpur Barja, Agarsanda, Baghipakar, Basantpur, Dhamar, and Khajuria from the Arrah CD Block, as well as Khesrahiya, Mathurapur, Rajapur, Daulatpur, Chanda, Gidha, Birampur, and Kayam Nagar from the Koilwar CD Block. According to the 2011 Census, Barhara has a population of 240,636, with a sex ratio of 878 females per 1,000 males, showing a gender imbalance.
